Nurse's Corner

Dear Roosevelt Families,

I would like to take this time to introduce myself as the new school nurse here at Roosevelt Elementary School. My name is Almeena Tucker. I know some of you may have heard the name Bowman, but I was recently married. I am a mother of four children, and want to assure you that your children's health and safety is in good hands. I began my nursing career over 10 years ago. Most of my career has been at the bedside in a nursing home and a rehabilitation center. I've worked in the Long-Term and the Sub-Acute settings. I have experience in G-tubes, Foley catheters, IV insertion and/or administration, diabetes and many other chronic illnesses and/or diseases. I've worked on a Trach and Vent unit, where my patient load was 8/10 patients per shift. Through my experience, I gained many skills as a nurse. In 2018 I decided to take a different path in my career. I began to work with children ages 5-17 in an inpatient Child/Adolescent Psych unit. I learned a lot as a nurse working with youth and my love for children grew stronger. I am happy to be here and it is an honor to be a part of a caring environment. My goal here at Roosevelt School is to keep everyone healthy and safe, so we can continue in-person learning.

If you have any questions and/or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to me via phone or email.

I am looking forward to a great school year.
